disneyland to ourselves!

Farmer's Insurance celebrated their 90th Anniversary and I got to be apart of it!
Because of Dad's hard work the past year, he made it to Topper's (basically a reward trip for your business doing well), and he was able to attend the event and brought me along! I'm so lucky!
Long story short, we went to Anaheim for lots of free food, a night of Disneyland all to ourselves, and a private Carrie Underwood concert. If this is sounding a little familiar it's because it does-we went to California Adventure together in 2014. View that post here.

Sunday, Dad and I met up at the Anaheim Convention Center, checked into our hotel, had a free steak dinner, food trucks, and a concert by the Gin Blossoms.

Monday, Dad went to meetings in the morning, I read by the pool, we had lunch together and went shopping, and then took a nap before our night at Disneyland started at 4pm!
Super stoked about the night as you can tell!

Free food started at 7pm so we went on a food tour while we waited for all the "peasants" to leave at 8pm. All the booths and restaurants were open and they were basically handing us out free food and drinks when we showed our magical wristbands! We went to town on the food all night long!

Then at 9pm we had a private Carrie Underwood concert! And she was amazing live!

After, we hit the rides hard! But we didn't have to do much work because Indian Jones had a 5 min wait, 10 min wait for space mountain, we walked right onto Peter Pan and then Dad and I were the ONLY people on Dumbo!

Then we had finished all the rides so we went around taking pictures with the characters until closing at 1am. Because hello, the professional photos were free!

Thanks Dad for bringing me along! Happiest girl at the happiest place on Earth! Cherry on top was being able to spend time with Dad while Sam was out of town so I didn't have to be home along by myself! Dad and I even watched Homeward Bound 2 together one night (he knows I'm a sucker for dog movies).

hannah's home!

We spent the weekend in Utah with the WHOLE Plothow family (which hasn't happened for years!!). And we got to celebrate Hannah's homecoming from her mission in Zimbabwe!
We're so happy to have her back!

We had a fun Saturday at Deer Creek playing on jetskis and paddle boards and even though I got the worst sunburn I've ever had in my whole life, it was a good time. But I also realized that driving a jetski is probably my 3rd biggest fear behind snakes and getting kidnapped. SO that was enlightening. I could barely go over 1 mph without having a full on panic attack.

Then we had Hannah's homecoming talk on Sunday with a grand party after with the best smoked pulled pork you've ever tasted!

And I got to see Meggie as well! We missed you Sara--she's off being a zipline guide in Alaska and just seeing the Northern Lights and what not...

Love you Hannah! So happy you're home safe!!

heat wave

The past month has been a constant heat wave. 80+ degree weather with no cooling off at night + no ac makes for a very, very hot apartment so we try to be home as little as possible.
So we have spent almost everyday surfing--after work, on our days off and on the weekends.

And now with the water temperature breaking records from 100 years ago, we haven't missed a day for a surf sesh in the 78 degree water! Plus we have been loving the no wetsuit situation.

And we have loved taking our friends out.
This was probably the most fun double date we've ever been on.
I was legit laughing so hard I peed my swimsuit! I mean, it's just the ocean so not a big deal. You try treading water in the ocean with waves crashing on you then laughing so hard you almost drown.

and more photos...

Sam's been sick for going on 2 weeks now and then he is scheduled to get his tonsils out so our surfing might be over this summer but I really hope not!!
