arches national park

Now that we're in Utah we get to visit all the cool places it has to offer! It's crazy but I've only been to one of the National Parks in Utah. So on President's Day weekend we drove the 3.5 hours down to Arches National Park. Luckily we got some sunny weather before another big snow storm rolled but it was still pretty chilly so we did most of the hikes in our coats! I liked Arches a lot because you get to see so much but can do it all in just 2 days without tons of strenuous hiking aka my kind of hiking.

So now here's a big photo dump of all the arches we got to see plus some extras.

P.S. here's a link to the video I made of our trip.

hello utah, hello cold

Sooooo we moved to Utah! We're happy about it, we're sad about it, and we're cold but life is good!!
We moved for a couple reasons but the main one was because Sam got a new job at Instructure (better work environment+ higher pay + benefits + lower cost of living = we couldn't say no). Sam LOVES his new job and honestly he's never been happier! He works with two of his college roommates and is learning so much and having the time of his life. Even though moving to Utah wasn't something we were planning on, it's been good for us. I honestly cried for 2 weeks straight when I found out we were leaving the CA beaches but I've been adjusting pretty well. I found a job a week after we moved and it's been going well. We're staying at my grandma's house which has been a HUGE blessing while we work to pay off our massive law school student loans. And the library is right across the street so that is a nice added bonus ;) Even though it's no Southern California, we've been having fun enjoying all Utah has to offer.

-We get to learn how to shovel snow...
(I never thought I would be annoyed to have a 3 car garage. But the past couple snow storms have made it a negative, but a positive for my arm muscles.)

+We get to see Sam's family in Orem for Sunday dinners, birthdays, etc.

+I get to have girl's nights with Meg!

+We have passes to the Fitness and Aquatic Center across the street so Sam and I work out after work or swim laps (which is kind of like the ocean right?)

+Sam's work is 7 minutes away from my work so we get to see each other for lunch and dental visits!

+My friend's families live in Utah so they home to come visit which means I get to see them too!

+We get to try some new hikes (Battle Creek & Bear Canyon Suspension Bridge), snow included.

+There are pretty sunsets and mountains.
