pregnancy updates

Here's some belly updates in the form of bad selfies and info on some other pregnancy symptoms.

I'm super lucky and thankful that I haven't been too sick during the pregnancy.
First trimester I was super tired and slept 13+ hours everyday. I would take a nap when I got home from work at 4 and then go to bed at 7 or 8 pm. I also got a little nauseous every day around 3 but it would go away if I took a nap or ate food. There was one day at work where I had a close call but luckily no throwing up-just went super pale and started sweating profusely but then it passed after 10 mins. There was only one night when I had really bad round ligament pain that wouldn't go away and not gonna lie-I cried myself to sleep.
Second trimester I feel like my nausea has picked up and I have to eat every 2 hours to feel better but it's as easy as that for right now. So I'm just eating everything in sight and putting on the pounds!

6 WEEKS
September 28th: The day I found out I was pregnant!

10 WEEKS
October 22nd: When I still had some form of abs but this was also right after going to the gym so...

14 WEEKS
November 20th: Right after swimming some laps at the rec center.

November 21st: I had just finished with my last patient at 7pm and I looked down at my belly and it had popped! My belly grows probably 2x bigger at night but I don't think it's going away anytime soon.

November 24th: Definitely a belly starting to show even in the morning now!

15 WEEKS
November 30th: At Steven and Karoline's playing games one night and I was feeling large! Only leggings fit so it's probably time I buy some maternity clothes.

December 2nd: The day we announced the news to the public!!

17 WEEKS
December 12th: Went to the Doctor today and she said everything looks good and that my weight gain is right on track even though I feel like I'm about to exploded! Also my belly button is now officially an outie...

December 15th: Told people at church today and these tights were majorly cutting off my
circulation.

 18 WEEKS
December 20th: All dressed up to go to Sam's Grandma Beth's funeral. Found out that this was the last time I could wear this dress because my rib cage is too big and I was busting at the seams!

December 21st: Had Christmas at mom's and helped her finish setting up furniture for her new house (why the bed is unmade). Going to be living in this sweater and leggings this winter.

19 WEEKS
December 25th: In a fancy pink bathroom at the Little America Hotel in SLC after some yummy Christmas Dinner. Maybe I should just move in and make this the nursery?

December 29th: Wore this cute maternity dress that Brooke got me for Christmas to church today.
I can't believe tomorrow I turn 27 and that I'm almost halfway with baby girl!

we're having a baby!

We're having a BABY GIRL due in May & we couldn't be more excited!

Sam and I both felt a little baby was something our family was missing around October 2018 but everything was so crazy in LA and things weren't falling into place. Then the move to Utah happened and even though it was not what I was expecting, we knew it was meant to be. There were a lot of months with tears and negative pregnancy tests but again, everything fell into place. Baby girl is due in May, right when my mom is moving to Utah and right when our new house will be built. We feel so lucky and blessed. And when we found out it was a baby girl, it just seemed so right and I always just felt like a baby girl would be the perfect fit for us. We are so excited and can't wait to meet her!!

fall happenings

First things first--we are BUILDING A HOUSE!! We bought a tiny dirt lot and are building a little house with David Weekley! We are so excited and it is going to be the cutest little house! It should be done early summer hopefully!

We didn't get super festive this fall but we started off by going to a pumpkin patch called Cross E Ranch in North SLC. Tip: they have the best apple cider donuts (I'm talking melt in your mouth status) that are to die for! And also they have pretty good french fries too. We tried the corn maze and got lost a few times but made it out eventually.

Posed with some pumpkins but didn't buy any because the extreme cold had made pretty much all of them go rotten.

We super last minute dressed up for Halloween. We both got home from work at 6:00pm, decided to dress up that night, changed and in 20 mins we were out the door to Sam's parents for their traditional soup in pumpkin shaped bread bowls & donuts and apple cider dinner.
This costume was definitely not our best work, but considering the fact that we weren't even planning on dressing up this year, I'd say for $2 and for 5 mins of planning--it turned out pretty well! Also, killing it this year only spending $2 on old person makeup-the rest of the stuff we already had!
So here you have it-- Grandma Coco and Miguel from the Disney movie Coco.

We also had a Modesto girls reunion one night with all the Modesto girls living in Utah. It was so fun seeing people who grew up babysitting me, girls my age, and girls who were a little younger than me. Love them all! Modesto 7th Ward for life!!

back in the four seasons

Back in San Diego, fall didn't exist. There were no colorful leaf changes because there are no trees. Yes, sweater weather was a thing because when it's 60 degrees in San Diego you get chilly. But here in Utah we have all the leaf changes and every sign of fall. Heck, the whole entire mountain changes colors. So we've been doing fall things like fall hikes and canyon drives that didn't use to exist in our San Diego life and it's kinda fun.

We went to the Utah Farm Bureau's Farmers Market across the street from the house and got the most amazing peaches!

Attended the loveliest baby shower for cousin Jenni and baby Claire.

We went hiking up to Cecret Lake with Sam's Dad and it was gorgeous because the leaves were just starting to change colors but it was absolutely freezing!

Took the prettiest Sunday drive up the canyon and explored a little.

wils ft. doggos

Hi and welcome back to another Sam appreciation post!
You can see previous "Why I Love Sam" posts here, here, here, here and here.

If you know me, you know that I have a thing for dog movies. It's been an ongoing love since I was 5 and went to Video King or Blockbuster (RIP) on McHenry Ave on the weekends and would rent anything from Shiloh (reason why my family ended up getting a Beagle btw) to AirBud to Benji to All Dogs Go to Heaven. You name a dog movie, I've seen it. And I'm being serious!
Exhibit A:
Old Yeller
Cats & Dogs
Beethoven
The Shaggy Dog
The Ugly Dachshund
Homeward Bound
Eight Below
Lady & The Tramp
101 Dalmatians
The Fox and the Hound
Because of Winn Dixie
Oliver & Company
Balto
Snow Dogs
Lassie
Milo & Otis
Best in Show
Marley & Me
Etc.
Etc.

Ok you get the idea.
So anyway, Sam doesn't really share my love for dog movies, but you guys!!
He watched not 1, BUT 2 dog movies with me recently!
First, we actually spent money to go to a movie theater and watch a dog movie!
& let me let you in on a little secret, Sam cried! We were at The Art Of Racing in the Rain
and he shed actual tears! It was tender.

Round 2, after Sam got home from a long day of work post Labor Day weekend he agreed to watch My Dog Skip (he has never seen that classic! shocking I know!) with me even though it was the last thing he wanted to do.
And it was so precious! I loved every minute of it!

Basically I love Sam for loving and supporting me--even my weird obsessions & I just felt like I had to share that proud marriage moment.
