arches national park round 2

We were able to go to Arches National Park with the Plothow's for a little family reunion and it was so fun! Maeve got to see cousins she's never met before and go swimming and hiking so basically it was her type of trip! This was my second time to Arches and we lucked out with super good weather. I was worried we would have 100+ temps but it was actually very pleasant with some cloud coverage so we were able to do some hikes without dying of heat.

Maeve loves hiking and it's so fun taking her to fun, cool places.

We made it to Delicate Arch despite the college kids behind us that were talking bad about bringing kids to places like this... What do they know?  We had so much fun!

Maeve did pretty well for the 3.5 hour drive but after the first 3 hours she was done and basically screamed the last 30 mins so on the way home we learned and took a little snack break.

                                                And then the cutie fell asleep. Success!

maeve's blessing

Sam gave Maeve a name and a blessing on August 23rd, 2020. It was a wonderful blessing and lots of our family got to attend. We kept the gathering small due to COVID but it was still a very special and happy day.  Maeve even got to wear the dress from my blessing (technically the dress Megan wore, but still so special!) She looked so cute and was so happy that day!

Lindsey took some amazing pictures of her and the family which was super nice. And Jody and Lindsey also helped us make some flower arrangements for that day. We also used some cute tablecloths that mom had. For food we had pulled pork, salads, fruit, veggies and pie for dessert. 

 We are so lucky to have all these friends and family who support us and Maeve.

hello cousin Jack

Megan had baby Jack Lawrence Christensen on the 4th of July (about 6 weeks after Maeve was born). But he only weighed 6 lbs 8oz at birth so Maeve was almost a pound and a half bigger than him to begin with at birth and now is a chunk at 10 lbs. When Jack was 3 days old we got to meet him and Maevey was stoked! Look at her smile! 

It's so fun to share all of these same experiences with Meggie.

We also took a few cousin pictures at Jack's newborn photoshoot.

things that happened in december

We did a lot of fun things this December but my favorite part was having Sam all to myself for 24 hours straight during the holiday season. It was glorious! It was the first time in a long time that he didn't have work or study part of the Christmas break. #christmasmiracle

First up, Sam and I went to the German outdoor Christmas Market in SLC and froze our little buns off.

 

 Spent Christmas at Sam's house. And officially hit 19 weeks on Christmas Day! 

We had a fire in the backyard, went to TopGolf, went to Star Wars, and played with babies. 

Spent some fun times with lots of food and puzzles at mom's new house in Highland. 

We all went and saw Little Women together and it was wonderful! 

Went snowshoeing up Tibble Fork with our new Christmas presents but it was definitely a struggle for me-fell a few times and took ages going up hills.

 Alta, Matt & Enzo, Gina & Pua, and Mom and Sara all came with us.

Had a birthday and spent it apart from Megan for the first time ever! I couldn't even blow out the candles without her help-- I had to try 3 times!!

How I really feel about turning 27....

We moved from Grandma Carol's house into mom's house. Hopefully our last move until our house is done!  But we're pro movers now and did it all super fast just the two of us.
