newport + date nights

The past couple months have been insane! August-October just flew by and I can't even remember the months happening but there's pics so it DID happen. The months mostly consisted of Sam being sickly. First, he got a really bad cold with sore throat/tonsil infection that had him out for 1.5 weeks.
But while he was recovering we went to Newport Beach to visit Megan while she was in town visiting. We took it easy because Sam still didn't have lots of energy so we just walked around Balboa, tried some treats, and went to the beach.

Then after Hannah's homecoming, Samuel stayed in Utah for a tonsillectomy surgery (it was $8,000 cheaper in Utah) and he had 2 brutal weeks of recovery there. Oh plus I forgot to mention that he broke his finger playing football as well. I don't know if it's just boys being accident prone, but I swear there's always something medically wrong with Sam. And for someone who doesn't have health insurance...it's suuuuper fun.

It was a long 2 weeks apart but it felt like everyday was date night when Sam got home.
First stop was the library to get me a library card because I've been spending ALL our money at Barnes & Noble every month. And let me tell ya, library cards are the greatest invention in all the land! I was in heaven and I don't know why it took me so long to make it happen.

We also went to a Padres Game against the AZ Diamondback. It was kind of a boring game because it was super low scoring at the beginning but we did see the Padres get a home run. And we ended up leaving early because they were tied at the 9th inning and we were sleepy. But it was a good thing we left because we heard the game went to 13 or 15 innings until 1am. But we were just so happy to be chillin' together in San Diego.

We also had a temple date night which was greatly needed because these past three months have been #rough but we always love the blessing the temple brings #blessed.
