wils ft. the wetsuit tragedy

Hi, and welcome back to another sappy post of love and appreciation for Samuel.
Also known as WILS--Why I Love Sam.  Previous "wils" posts are here here here and here.

So last weekend after a long, busy week of work and school; the sun was out, a nice 80 degrees, and we were both just so ready to go surfing for the first time of 2018! Like soooo pumped!
see pic for reference:
We loaded up the party van with the gear and headed to the beach. It actually took a while to get there too because the crowds were out and finally ready to soak up the sun too. We get to the beach and realize my wetsuits are definitely not in the van, (the water is a good 60 degrees so I wasn't about to just hop on in) we probably left them at home duh! so a little frustrated at myself for waisting precious Saturday Sam time, we turned around and drove all the way back home to get them.

After tearing apart the apartment searching everywhere (people our apartment is a good 700 square feet, not much room to hide or loose anything) we still can't find them!

Long story short, we realize they had to have been stolen out of the van, bless the van's heart but that thing is old and not like Fort Knox so either we left a door unlocked or someone just craftily broke in.
You guys I was DEVASTATED! I probably bawled my eyes out for a good hour.
And I know it's just stuff that can be replaced but
1. That floral wetsuit WAS my most prized possession (besides my wedding ring)
Pathetic I know but that thing brought me so much happiness.

2. Not only did my favorite wetsuit get stolen but so did my winter suit that I was supposed to wear and that thing was not cheap! $190 at least!
3. I got my floral wetsuit on sale in 2016 for $50 and it was last one available in that style.
4. Great, now I have to buy 2 new wetsuits when I already had them. DUMB!

Ok here's the best part, while I was bawling and feeling sorry for myself Sammy was scouring the internet for a replacement. I thought it would be hopeless to find the exact style and print because it's 2 years old and they come out with new styles every year.
But you guys!! Look what came in the mail today!

Sam is too good to me! Not only did he find the last one ever, in the whole entire internet world, it was my size!! And this is big for him because he HATES spending money. But he knows how to make me happy even though he spent $100 on a $50 wetsuit we used to own...Love him to pieces!
And that my friends is Why I Love Sam.

april

April has been flying by and we've just been trying to survive work and finals. It has literally been a blur of a month....I just went grocery shopping for the first time this month and it's the 20th (we've been surviving on water and pb&js but then we ran out of peanut butter...) and I did the laundry for the first time in who knows when. I feel like I haven't had one minute to calm down because so many things are happening, which is totally dramatic because when I look back at the pictures of the month so far we DID actually do some fun things.

Went on a fun Good Friday date with Sammy to a burger place with bomb onion rings and then took a stroll along the beach.

Went to the Koons' Annual Easter Eggstravaganza in between conference sessions for an egg toss, egg hunt & egg drop. We went up to campus for the egg drop but had to bribe a campus cop to let us go through with it. Sam and I definitely lost with the only egg splat of the whole group but it was a fun time with our wardie friends.

Went to our friend Ryan's birthday beach bbq and while Sam played with his law school peeps, I played with their dogs.

Saw a pretty sunset while eating dinner at a beachfront bar with mama who was in town for her Easter Break. She also helped me bring and make dinner for a lady in the ward and then treats for mutual.

We've been trying to go running every Tuesday and Thursday after work but some weeks we do better than others.

Went to Sam's law school professor's Coronado condo (behind us) for Sunday brunch & mimosas, minus the mimosas. Then we hit up the beach for a little sun.

Took my girlies to the temple for baptisms.

Had a tragic Saturday involving stolen wetsuits read more here. But then Sam took me out to lunch at our favorite place with my favorite cute walls.

April's definitely not over yet and there are some exciting things to come like our 4 year anniversary and Sara's BYU graduation!
