here's to you san diego

We've officially been in San Diego for a whole year!
We love it despite the unbearable hot months in our un-airconditioned apartment and even though all my income is dedicated to our monthly rent bill.
But how can we complain? Life is great
and San Diego has become our home.

The bank tellers know my whole life story and greet me by name,
the lady at Rose Donuts knows my order,
you can find us at UltraStar Cinemas every weekend,
the Food 4 Less cashier knows we will always ask for quarters (#laundryprobs),
the USD visitor booth no longer stops me as I drive up,
Riley still gets mad at us for parking in front of his house (we do it anyway),
Tucker still barks at us everyday,
I know what hours to go to the beach in order to find a parking spot,
I know my way around our town (not quite sure if Sam does yet),
our surfing skills are slowly but surely improving,
and we've made friends!

We have many more anniversaries with San Diego to look forward to but hopefully with a few changes and upgrades like possibly some air-conditioning...but until then,
cheers San Diego to a wonderful year together!
Love,

proud wife moment 2

Hello and welcome back to #braggingwivesanonymous.
My blog has kind of turned into a Samuel shrine. Sorry 'bout it.
But here I go again, just a proud wife bragging about my freaking awesome husband.
And now let's get down to business.

Someone rocked the GMAT which means--
Samuel got accepted into the USD Business Program + got an academic scholarship!!

1. Talk about getting down to business for real!
2. Talk about over-achiever.
3. Talk about so many letters after his name...
Samuel T. Plothow, JD, MBA
Like what? Super fancy!
4. Talk about an extra year of school.
Yikes, I have mixed emotions about that one.

Samuel started orientation this week with the 22 others. There's bound to be some tough competition with that small of a group but he's already basically a celebrity to all those newbie USD students.
We're super excited for a year of everything business and a break from law school.
Master of Business Administration here we/he comes!

la jolla

This past weekend my fave crew came to visit before summer comes to an end. Sorry in advance for the billion photos to follow, but it's only once in a blue moon that both your sisters sojourn simultaniously!
(i.e. it was Sara's first time and we've been here a year!)
We stayed in a little beach apartment instead of my one bedroom box for easy beach access and more importantly, air conditioning. #itsthelittlethings #thanksmom
Now introducing in all it's glory, the party house!
And the neighborhood! Serious flower envy amiright?

First item of business: Exercise.
Gotta get in that work out before binge brunching at the Cottage aka the Second item of business. But seriously look it up. Sooo tasty! And my go to place for all the said exercising - Torrey Pines State Reserve. 1.) The view 2.) Beach access 3.) Tennis' are optional/I can get away with hiking in sandals.
mama just practicing her selfie face

Third item of business: Lounge.
After hiking, a fatty brunch (literally and figuratively), a good lounge is the perfect capper to a great day. We took a little boat cruise around San Diego Harbor with our very own tour guide, we'll call her Barb.
look at that San Diego skyline
Sarita with the Sarita
twins much?

Fourth item of business: Party
The party category encompasses all extra activities that take place during the stay. Ours included surfing, beach walks/naps/all beach activities, playing with seals, card games, movies, shopping, and wandering around Old Town.
Props to Megs and Sara for braving the ocean without wetsuits on our overcast beach day.
Sups happs that my babes cut my work week short for long weekend visit with little old me.
#bestiesfortheresty of our lives and forever...
