europe in video

We are in no way videographers as you can tell from the shaky iPhone videos. We are definitely not graceful in front of the camera. But we are really good at saying weird things, not talking loud enough and awkward dance moves. Despite it all, here's a little video of some of our Europe adventures, mostly for posterity's sake. **Disclaimer: That is not a baby announcement!! I repeat, there is no baby.

Sorry for the technical difficulties the first go around. Here's a working link.

update on summer

Since when has summer been so busy? School's out for summer and I thought life would be a breeze, but I feel like we have an even busier summer schedule. We've both been working what seems like nonstop but I guess that's what happens when you become an adult. Can I just pretend that I'm still young enough to order from the kid's menu? Great. Because I still do...
Sam started his first internship and was gone all day + by the time we ate dinner, did the dishes, and fulfilled our other responsibilities it was time for bed again. So boring! But even though it's not the ideal summer, we are working hard, making the best of things, and squeezing in time for fun.
So here's a lil' update:

Summer started with Sam's internship in Del Mar. It was at a great firm where he met many lawyers #networking and had the opportunity to go to court. But many days were filled with hours of scanning and he wanted a little less scanning, more law clerking.
Then an opportunity arose for a law clerk position in La Jolla. Sam interviewed the next day and got the job 3 hours later. He starts Monday! Hooray for more experience, flexible hours, and higher pay!
Triple whammy!!
I worked every day last week and it nearly killed me. Working on Fridays during the summer should not be allowed! P.S. Friday I worked at a Sedation Dentistry office which was probably the weirdest experience of my whole life! I learned it's really hard to clean people's teeth when they are sleeping --8 hours of snoring patients who nearly chomped off my fingers.
Sam took the GMAT on Friday and rocked it!! Now we wait to find out if he gets accepted to USD Business School. If so, JD MBA here we come + one more year of school for a grand total of 4 years. Not too stoked about that. But what's two more semesters in the long run right?
June gloom is finally clearing up and the warm summer days are starting + we finally bought a surf board so we're taking every opportunity to go to the beach. I sometimes forget how amazing it is to live by the beach but I'm reminded at the start of summer vacation because the visitors literally take over!
We are learning to enjoy this new type of summer. And as we are finally getting into the swing of things, it's turning out quite nicely.

a fairly good time

The San Diego County Fair was definitely a fair to remember! Not only was it like my second time at the fair but that was literally the theme of the fair this year "A Fair to Remember" so ya. Also this was the first time Sam and I have been to some sort of amusement park together! We've never done Lagoon, Disneyland, or Knotts Berry Farm together which is sad and strange and I've definitely been to all of those places since we've been married!! So um Sam where the heck have you been?! We're going to have to fix that situation real quick. But anyway, onto the fair!

The best part about our fair trip was that we got tickets for a bangin' bargain of $4 each #wefrugal.
The absolute worst part was we arrived right after the petting zoo closed! Oh the humanity! But we were still able to see the animals and let me tell you, we saw the cutest twin baby goats ever! And that's saying something because I've seen a lot of goats. Also did you know pygmy goat racing is a thing? Ya it exists at the Del Mar Fair and I would just like to take this time to publicly thank whoever came up with that idea. THANK YOU!! I could've gone home happy after the petting zoo but we added in some fried food for a more complete fair experience and watched the sunset while eating our funnel cake. #itsthelittlethings
I'm fairly positive we'll be hitting this up every summer while we're in San Diego but I'll definitely plan it better so not another petting zoo goes un-petted....Uh see you next time twin goats!

ireland

Last but not least- IRELAND!! Ireland was the last stop on our trip but really the main reason for our whole Europe adventure because we have family who LIVES there! Ya you read that right. Sam's older sister lives in Cork, Ireland with her family and we just HAD to visit them. The whole gang picked us up from the bus station and showed us around their town but we made it home shortly after because Gregory and George were so dying to show us their house. Gregory was so cute and made sure to tell us that we could have whatever food we wanted and that we could share the tv with him.
After dinner and a tour we went to Rocky Bay Beach with the whole fam. It was freezing but the boys were not at all scared to get their feet wet and play in the sand. Ok and because I can talk about the scenery all day long I'll just cut to the chase and let the pictures do the talking...But because pictures don't do it justice I'll just add, unreal guys!! UNREAL!
hello cows at the beach!!
We stayed at the beach until bedtime because the sun doesn't set on Ireland. Ok it does but not until 9pm. And here's some pictures from the drive back from the beach because #cantgetenough.
The next morning after an Irish breakfast we traveled the tiny, forested road to Blarney Castle, just a hop, skip, and jump away from their house. Amazing right?
Gregory had to go to school for the beginning of the day but we're glad we had George to keep us entertained. When Sam and I were just dating and I first met Georgie he called me Lady and continued that for awhile even after he got my name down. Nicknames right off the bat? #wetight
Georgie likes to take pictures, be our tour guide, and to drive Sam crazy, but we love him anyway!
Blarney Castle was HUGE! I couldn't get over how big and tall the castle was. As we climbed the stairs to the roof, we asked George if he liked it. He said it was creepy because we were so high up and then he said "I hate this" lol so ya it was fun...

Blarney Castle is a well-known Irish landmark because of the Blarney Stone. We both kissed the Stone which was a tad frightening because you have to lay on your back and lean through a crevasse to reach it, but a nice old guy made sure we didn't fall. #blesshim
Happy after kissing the Blarney Stone because legend has it, "it endows the kisser with the gift of great eloquence and skill of flattery." It all came about because a man kissed the stone the morning of his lawsuit in court and won after pleading his case with great eloquence.
Can you say lucky days ahead for Sam's law career?
#ireland
Our next stop was Charles Fort. It was built right along the harbor and covers a huge part of land.
The view was unbelievable! I've said it once and I'll say it again, the green grass hills--UNREAL!
We were there for a few hours playing hide and seek, tag, and rolling down the hills. It was so fun and the boys didn't want to leave.
Look at those cuties!
That night Brooke and Stan took us out for a lovely dinner with a ocean cliff view. We love this family of ours so much and we were so lucky to be apart of their little Irish life for a few days.
We had so much fun on our European adventure but were more than ready to be back home. Most of our trip consisted of this ^ countless hours in airports, washing our faces in the airport sinks, and many uncomfy hours on airplanes. But can't complain because we made it to every flight on time and every little problem just sort of worked itself out. And on the flight home we somehow managed to score a whole entire row (4 seats!!) so I was lounging like a queen! It was a good time.
Thanks Ireland! You were good to us.
