flower filled anniversary

I'm one of those people who celebrates anything: good grades, half birthdays, meet-a-versaries, number of days I haven't seen an ant in the house...you get the picture. And wedding anniversaries definitely fall on the celebration list. But I'm no pro at anniversary celebrations. Hello, first timer over here. So I made it as glamourous as possible: a surprise pop-tart breakfast for Samuel before I ran off to work, I said glamourous right? but Samuel sure one-uped me when I came home to a mountain of flowers. Like how did he even carry them all home?
Then we did our favorite things, Thai food for dinner and a movie. We're kind of obsessed with movies like to the point that we always go opening night, not like anyone cares about all of this. But I'm telling you, Age of Adaline. So good! Probably just because Blake Lively is a goddess but just food for thought.
Friday after Sam's last class we took a trip up to Carlsbad to visit the flower fields. Yes, field(s) plural, I'm talking acres and acres of flowers everywhere. S/O to Samuel for taking me. He's the real mvp!
And now for some really great "action shots" at the flower fields because how else are you supposed to pose with millions of flowers and keep your husband entertained?
And then we went to the next level with these really great photos...Samuel made me.
It was literally a flower filled anniversary and I loved every second of it.

one year

 || APRIL 23rd ||
Sam and I have been married for a whole year and I can't even believe it!
Just last week we laid in bed talking about the past year; about our time dating, all we have accomplished, the places we've been, things we've done and how things have changed. Man life is so crazy!! But somehow life keeps getting better and better and I'm sure it has something to do with Samuel. He makes me so happy! And now I'm probably going to make him very unhappy by posting a link to this little video I made. It's not glamorous or professional at all, just a fun video clips of our first year of marriage consisting mostly of embarrassing moments of Samuel. I might have told him no one else would see it except him...but yolo

And what's says anniversary better than wedding pictures because everyone likes wedding pictures...
Or maybe it's just me.

I love April 23rd, I love marriage, and I love Samuel!
Happy One Year Anniversary lover! I can't wait for the years to come.

easter break

Hoppy Easter everybunny!
This Easter weekend we really wanted to just relax and do nothing.
It was seriously the best after what seemed like the busiest week/weekend of our lives.
After a lazy Saturday morning of watching LDS Conference we took a little drive over to La Jolla. And seriously, what a beautiful, perfect day to take a beach stroll, watch the seals, and adventure down Sunny Jim's Sea Cave.

^^i spy with my little eye two little seals ^^
We finished off the night watching the sunset at the Mount Soledad Cross Memorial. Mount Soledad is the highest peak in La Jolla and it is the prettiest scenic drive up to the top. Plus the view from the top is breathtaking with a 360 view of the ocean, downtown, and the temple. It was the perfect place to reflect on the true meaning of Easter and take in the beauty that surrounds us. Happy Easter!
