sometimes life wins

You know those days when life just wins. Where no matter what you do nothing seems to work out.
That happened yesterday.

Feel free to continue reading if you want to hear a slightly boring recap about our pathetic Friday night.
lol sounds good doesn't it?

Well it was Friday night and Friday nights are supposed to be fun. We decided to stray from the normal movie night and go bowling. Nothing fancy, just some good old fashion bowling. We found the three nearest bowling alleys (fyi all were 25 mins from us in opposing directions) and decided on the cheapest one.
As we were nearing our destination, the directions led us into the San Diego Naval Base. We followed, confused but optimistic. The guard stopped us at the entrance and Sam said, "Um we just want to go bowling." The guard literally laughed out loud and gave us an "are you stupid? You can't enter unless you are military personnel" look. We waited while the guard contacted the head security honcho just so we could turn our car around. As we drove away we just laughed and talked about how all the guards were for sure making fun of us
But not to worry, we had a back up plan. Onto bowling alley #2. We drove back 25 minutes in the opposite direction to SDSU. We followed the website's directions to park in a certain lot and pay at the kiosk. Not rocket science. The only problem was we couldn't find the kiosk to pay at. And everyone knows that college campus parking tickets are the worst! We gave up after kiosk searching for ten minutes and decided to just go bowl. We asked for bowling for two and were welcomed with a two hour wait time. No thanks! We weren't about to wait two hours with our car sitting exposed in an unpaid parking spot. Talk about sitting duck.
Bowling alley #3 was certainly out of the picture: too expensive, too far away and we weren't going to test our luck again. We drove home defeated and just sat in the parked car trying to come up with something to do. Nothing. So we called it a night.
To add to the misery, this morning there was a lovely surprise parking citation on our car windshield. $59 because the front wheel was not turned into the curb enough. Lovely.

Final total:  Life 3 | Sam & Erin 0
Angry selfies in the parking garage at bowling alley #2 because what else can you do?
