fifteen months
Maeve at Fifteen Months:
Went to the Zoo for the first time and loved every second.
New Skills: Climbing-she loves it and is getting very brave and adventurous-she will climb the rock wall on the playground or anything that looks climbing worthy for that matter. "Works out" with mom and will pretend to do push ups. Very comprehensive-understands what's going on in movies and now gets scared during parts. Really good at please and thank you sign language now. Does a little "where is it" motion when she's looking for the remote.
Quirks: Does a happy dance & scream when she hears the garage open when same gets home from work. Loves sitting on the bottom stair to put on her shoes, read books, etc. Says "mmm" when she's eating something she really likes. Maeve LOVES Aunt Megan and playing with Jack. She always does her excited scream when she sees them.
Favorite Activities: Coloring, "cleaning", trying to ride older kids bikes and scooters, riding horses at the farm.
Favorite Foods: Oatmeal, Peaches, Plain Greek Yogurt, Marshmallows, Soda or fancy drinks
Least Favorite Foods: Still a picky eater--doesn't like Chicken, Fish, vegetables.
Dislikes: Getting clothes wet, getting diaper changed, not getting her way, sitting in her carseat unless she's watching a movie on mom's phone, hates saying goodbye to binky and blankey when she wakes up.
Maeve is now on a 1 nap schedule and usually sleeps 2.5-3 hours starting around 12 or 12:30. She is sleeping through the night for the most part except during a week stint of molar teething when she would wake up screaming. She loves to be cuddled when she can't fall back asleep on her own and will cling to you when you try and put her down. But during the middle of the night is really the only time I can get cuddles from her so I take them.
She gets very concerned when Sam and I aren't together. If I go somewhere for a second without her and Sam she gets very nervous. During the week she is fine with Sam being gone but on the weekends when she knows we're supposed to be together 24/7 she kind of freaks out. So if we are going somewhere all together she likes to hold both of our hands because she's happy she gets both of us. Or if Sam accompanies us on a walk or to the park she thinks it's so funny because that's usually just a mom and Maeve thing.
Maeve now has 4 teeth on bottom with a molar on the left starting and 3.5 teeth on the top with a molar peeking through on the left as well.

fourteen months
My motto for 14 Month Old Maeve: It was the best of times and the worst of times. She is seriously so fun and we have the best day and I think it doesn't get better than this and then the next day she really pushes my buttons. She throws some killer temper tantrums or she puts on her drama queen personality and cries at every little thing. But for the most part we have the best time together.
-Favorite Activities: playing at the park, reading books, watching movies
-Favorite Food: Mac n Cheese, PBJs, Kodiak Pancakes, Uncle Tony's Ribs, Corn on the Cob, Jello
Favorite Movie/Shows: Frozen, Luca, The Wiggles
-Dislikes: Jealous when other babies play or touch me. Little kids-she thinks she's 5 and only wants to play with older kids. Her OCD gets the best of her sometimes and she hates when strawberries are cut up or grapes are cut up and she won't eat them!
Skills: Says hi to everyone-in church, on walks, in the car. Independent play-can play at the park by herself and keep herself occupied with random tasks while I am showering or making dinner. She loves a good task. She also is very helpful and takes her diaper to the garbage by herself and she loves to help make food with me.
Best moments of 14 Months: We were sitting in relief society and Maeve was done with church so she looked at me and signed "all done". She then proceed to scream because we still had 15 mins left and I told her we weren't quite done yet but she's the boss and enough was enough.
Another good Maeve story-I washed and cut up all the strawberries when I got home from the grocery store so they would be prepped and ready for Maeve to eat. She ate one and then when she asked for more I handed her another cut up strawberry and she started to throw a fit and I didn't know why. I showed her the bowl of strawberries and they were all cut side down so they looked whole to her and she wanted a whole one. But then she proceed to pick up each strawberry and turn it over to find it cut and she lost it! HAHA
I painted Maeve's toes for the first time! Having a girl is so fun! She also loves to look in the mirror after I do her hair and I say so pretty and she does the cheesiest girly smile.

Our Little Cutie is Turning ONE!
We threw Maeve a Cutie Themed Birthday Party for her 1st Birthday. Maeve was a little grumpy the day off because she didn't take her second nap beforehand but she had the best time opening presents and eating her smash cake. And she loved all the attention. I had way too much fun planning her party and doing all the little details. Sam asked the night before as we were blowing up balloons and arranging flowers, "Is it her wedding or something?" And "we're not doing this every year are we?!"
Location: Mom's Clubhouse
Food: Mom and Grandma Lola made the cutest sugar cookies, Texas Sheet Cake, Fruit Cups and Meg and Dad helped with food and drinks as well.
Decorations: Dried Orange Garlands made by me, DIY Balloon Arch with help from sisters, Flowers with help from Tippetts and mom, and Favors with help from mom

eleven months
-Participated in her first 5K (in her stroller of course). And was the best little girl.
-3 erupted teeth--top left incisor made it's appearance. Top right incisor and top left lateral incisor are working their way in.
-Signs "more" and "milk". But basically signs "more" if she wants something.
-Started dancing (bends her knees and bounces) to music.
-Favorite Movie: Frozen 1 and 2. She will stand leaning against the couch and watch for at least 10 mins straight.
-Favorite Song: Does hand motions to Itsy Bitsy Spider & Wheels on the Bus but also loves the Frozen Soundtrack.
-Favorite Food: Pasta with sauces, quesadilla, oranges, blueberries, oatmeal, toast.
-Likes: balloons, balls, dog Bitmoji on FaceTime, soft stuffed animals, playing in the rocks/woodchips/bark at the park.
-Hates: getting her diaper changed, getting in her carseat
-New Skills: Drinks from a straw, stacks blocks, pulls herself up on furniture, plays independently standing up at a table, turns off the light switch, presses the garage door button, properly falls when walking.
-She can finally crawl the right way and is cruising around the house more. Really only likes to crawl when she's on the carpet upstairs.
-Walking more and more by herself. She's done multiple laps of the upstairs all by herself. She is more confident at home but likes help when out and about.
-Squeezes her fists and clenches her teeth when frustrated. Also likes to pinch or pull hair when mad.
-Switched her into a big girl carseat and lowered her crib.
-The best sleeper! Had a little regression with her second nap for a week but now we're back on track. Wakes up at 7am (sometimes 6:30). First nap 10-12pm. Second nap 3:30-4:30/5pm. Bedtime 8:30pm and sleeps through the night!

ten months
-Says "uh oh"
-Gives kisses and has been a little more cuddly.
-Sings along to "If All of the Raindrops" --the ah ah ah part
-Finally started CRAWLING! March 25, 2021
-Has been more into reading and likes to read when she wakes up from a nap and before she goes to bed.
-Favorite Books: "My Dad Loves Me" (especially the dog, monkey, and lion page), "A Book of Love" by Emma Randall and the Bedtime for Sam Bear Book.
-Favorite Foods: string cheese, applesauce pouches, oatmeal, pizza, raisin bars, oranges, grapes, rice, and peanut butter.
-Favorite Song: "Itsy Bitsy Spider" and tries to do the hand motions.
-Loves SOFT THINGS on her face-blankets, soft toys, & baby goats fur!
-We went to a few baby animal days and she loved the baby goats! She would chase them and pull their tails and smother her face in their fur.
We were at Steven and Karoline's house and she was holding onto a ball so she didn't realize she wasn't holding on to someone's finger. She just cruised! But she's only taken a few solo steps since then. She still wants the security of holding onto someone.
-Does this weird thing of GAGGING herself with her hand until she throws up? Usually in the car randomly like not when she's eating or anything but has also done it while in her highchair when she doesn't like a certain food.
-Has not been the best sleeper this month. She wakes up at least 1x during the night to eat. She has been having separation anxiety and sometimes needs you to lie on the ground next to her crib so she can fall asleep. She reaches for your hand through the crib which is cute but also annoying to have to do that for her to fall asleep. She has been skipping her afternoon nap sometimes. She was on a nap at 11 and 4 but now a 4pm nap is too late so she's been waking up a little earlier around 7:30 which has been helping her afternoon nap be around 3/3:30 and she does so much better that way.
